We now confront the stinging need to find new paths, for the civilization of the future. The one we have known so far is in its last throes, and it is imperative that we discover brand new horizons and plan the kind of life we prefer for after the next Peace protocol.

Aware of our duties – homo sum, humani a me alienum porto – we want to participate in the reconstruction of the world as experimental architects that we are in the amendment of human nature. We understand that it is our duty, and if we do not reserve a seat in the Assembly of the Human Parliament that we expect to be constituted on the occasion of the cessation of the world war, as we have been insisting, we want to at least anticipate our constancy. We do not claim a position that will surely be bargained for us, but we do consign from now on that we demand that we be heard. We don't aspire to more. If we are given a little attention, we will know in advance what is so indispensable to take into account, if we really want the moral, material, Spiritual health of the species in the future. We do not ask for anything of a personal nature for us, nor do we expect any kind of privilege; but we can be discounted from now on all our support in favor of groups or factors determined, of peoples or individuals - we should not be counted on as supporters of coalition, unconfessed or other interests, because all our longings are entrusted in well-being, peace and human progress, without clans or sects, without any coercion, whether of "victorious weapons", diplomatic pressures, "circumstantial demands". We want the enthronement of genuine Democratic Principles, without subterfuges or postponements, no promises, but deeds. We want to be uncompromising this time, because in the previous one, we made the mistake of sincerely believing and trusting in the "Entente Cordiale", and now we want to avoid as much as possible the disasters that would mean for the human species a new deception, a contemporizing of incompetent and foolish statesmen, a moral remission that would mean nothing less than a denial of democracy and the definitive adoption of Totalitarianism.

We have known the religious totalitarianism of proselytic dogmatisms, and the political one of nationalisms outrance. We also know that all the evils of the world start from these two modalities of human stupidity in trances of violence, either by excessive ambition or fear. They originate the economic chaos, and the dismissal of the Spirit and the contempt for the authentic Spiritual.

Well, man must face the current situation, discarding once and for all the serious state of his illusions and the cumbersome burden of his racial, traditional and confessional prejudices and hatreds. What is imposed, now, is to discover other dimensions of life, in order to be able to fit into the picture of the historical and cosmic reality (1) that is being presented and raise their moral standard and Spiritual value to a potential of indisputable dignity.

Until the day of Pearl Harbor, we insisted with fervor on the fact that it was indispensable a revision of values, a review of principles, an innovation of procedures and customs, a change of aspirations, a remodeling of human life, a political restructuring of the world, a cultural readjustment, and, finally, a social economic reconditioning, always looking towards the displacement of the materialistic mechanism of human convictions and aspirations, and Spiritual rehabilitation as the indispensable end of existence.

Today, we understand that nature, the Cosmos, has over lamed the historical. That is why we hasten to set Spiritual paths according to the imperatives of the moment.

In August 1935, we wrote the following, as an editorial of the splendid publication Spiritual Renaissance, from Los Angeles, California, under the title "Towards Transcendental Life."

(1) More cosmic than historical, since it responds to higher Spiritual influences. As much as one insists on ignoring and disdaining, the human species is subject to an Evolution Plan, and has responsible Spiritual Guides. Human destiny could not inevitably remain at the mercy of totalitarian dictators, without cosmic assistance, especially when they are determined precisely to counteract natural needs and destroy spiritual values and serve these words of warning: One cannot play with impunity with the destiny of the peoples or with the imperatives of the Universal Consciousness, no matter what pretext we adduce! That is why it is imperative that a Human Parliament be constituted soon, as before and then as a substance of a World Confederation of Nations.

History has already given its decision; no great empire survives beyond three hundred years and no human glory rests on personal or national interests. Only the genuinely human and deeply Spiritual ennobles, satisfies and endures.
